What would happen if we put tomorrow’s leaders in charge, today?

GAME

CREATIVE IDEATION - PROJECT MANAGEMENT - AI INTEGRATION

Think tanks usually react to problems with the same old solutions.

Tax and spend, lower services, build more houses. Once exciting ideas, that work anymore. But what if we could tap into tomorrow’s leader’s minds and find out how they’d tackle today’s problems?

The challenge set by the Tony Blair Institute, one of the most ambitious think tanks in politics, was simple. Find a way to tell the next generation of leaders about their bold vision for how governments should embrace technology. Here’s how I tackled it.

Welcome to your government.
You’re in charge here

A simulation of political leadership that’s digestible, engaging and fun.

1. SELECT A COUNTRY, AND TELL YOUR PEOPLE WHAT YOU STAND FOR. From saving the climate, to economic growth. Your people know where you stand, and what to judge you by.

2. SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THE WORLD’S MOST EXCITING TECH SOLUTIONS.. You’ll unlock new policy options that no leader in history has been able to achieve.

3. USE THE REST OF YOUR $ AND TERM TIME WISELY with limitations that real-world leaders face, you’ll drive change. Hyper-speed trains, AI-healthcare. It’s your choice if you pick wisely.

A political strategy game that

puts young people in charge.

A product, enabled by AI

A product, enabled by AI

A not-for-profit with a limited budget, the Tony Blair Institute had struggled to execute creative projects of this scope.

This time round, it was made possible this time by my strategic implementation of AI throughout the project. From Midjourney to experiment with art direction, to GPTo1 to analyse audience data for insights to Adobe Generative Fill to perfect in-game visuals.

Marketing & Promotion

Activating young people through social

Young people want to be heard, so we built a paid social campaign that positioned the game as an opportunity to translate passionate opinions into meaningful results.

This was pushed to audiences with targeted paid ads, influencer partnerships & social media content packs shared far and wide by Institute staff.

And leaders at the biggest political conference of the year.

The Institute’s flagship annual conference brought 500+ of the world’s most influential people into the same room. From government leaders, to business moguls, to technology innovators.

The first thing they saw when they arrived at the conference was a trailer promoting the game with a link to play, leading to over 150 of the world’s most influential innovators creating their own states and seeing the impact of the Institute’s thinking.

Imagine your own state.
