What if leaders could step into the world they’re able to create tomorrow, today?

Building a connection between leaders and policy ideas is simple. Inspire them by demonstrating what happens if a policy is implemented.

In the past this would require set building, interactive campaigns or pop up exhibitions. But when generative AI tools emerged I spotted an opportunity for the Tony Blair Institute. From that opportunity, a series which helped form relationships with countless global leaders was formed.

Step into the future

Step into the future

Instead of just describing a possible future, this multi-year campaign showed it.

Initially using early versions of Midjourney and Generative Fill, and eventually using RunwayML, ElevenLabs, and a pre-launch partnership with OpenAI Sora, the Tony Blair Institute allowed world leaders to step into a world that’s possible if technology is embraced by governments.

What if the UK used tech to replan its cities?

What if AI found the need for and helped plan the re-wilding of Oxford Street? What if the world’s first hydrogen-plane airport was built in the UK?

Technology can uncover and implement radical solution’s to the world’s most pressing problems, using UK cities as its canvas.

What if India used cloud to reimagine its economy?

India’s economy is at a turning point, with radical growth and shift beyond fossil fuels. Cloud data accessible across the country would radically reimagine India’s economy, unlocking and harmonising regional talents.

What if UAE used AI to reimagine public services?

The UAE is a unique opportunity for leaders to build public services that belong in 2025, and show how AI can manage and upkeep world-class transport, community hubs and vertical farming owned by the people.

An ever-evolving series

As generative AI tools continued to evolve, so did the Profiles of the Future series.

TBI’s policy ideas continued to be brought to life with the bleeding edge of AI tools available. This included RunwayML for video, ElevenLabs for sound effects and voiceover, and a pre-launch partnership with OpenAI to demonstrate their then-upcoming tool Sora at the Institute’s flagship conference.

This series kept TBI at the very forefront of AI-enabled content generation.
